If you are focused and stay in the business you can use forum marketing with little to no outlay of cash. Your time is all you need to invest, and a computer of course.

Forums, by loose definition are online meeting places for like-minded folks. Wow, now that is just what a marketer is looking for, a focused group of prospects to join and cultivate a relationship with.

These are highly targeted prospects just waiting for you to come in and solve their problems. In return they will join your list, purchase your products and be your friend. Isn’t that what we all want, more friends and money?

Let’s say you are in the RC car niche and you find a few forums to participate in. One may be specific to race cars, one for trucks, one just for the batteries used in these cars. Even if you are new to the niche, don’t know a lot about it, you could join these forums, read the discussions, ask your own questions and learn from them.

Eventually you will gain enough knowledge to answer questions. After a while you will become known as an expert in this area. If you don’t spam, you know don’t push your offers or website too much, you will find that folks search you out.

It may take some time, but over the long run you can build huge lists of satisfied customers from this simple no cost method of relationship building.
